Energy conservation should be the first step every one should take in their go green campaign. The reason I believe this is;
#1: It will substantially reduce your carbon footprint.
#2: It will reduce green house gases.
#3: It will keep more money in your wallet.
#4: It is the first place you must start if you are planning to switch to renewable energy for your home.
So as you can see, energy conservation has many benefits.
America Lags Behind Other Nations In Alternative Energy Research

America lags behind other nations in alternative energy research.
According to a recent article in The Washington Post China appears to be the world leader in Green Energy Technology. China is spending 10 times what the U.S. is spending on clean power as a percentage of gross domestic product. This even though the U.S. Economy is still 1.5 times larger than the Chinese economy.
Now excuse me for saying this but , THIS IS PATHETIC!! Some of the greatest innovations in the world have come from the minds and hands of Americans. The government of this country needs to step up to the plate and start offering some serious economic incentives for developing new renewable resource technologies. Instead they would rather give the money in tax breaks to some of the most serious offenders when it comes to clean energy.
Two trillion dollars a year are at stake and steadily climbing. That’s right $2,000,000,000,000.00 a year. (Figure from The Washington Post)
That could put a serious dent in the national deficit, could it not? Unless this current Administration starts to put some serious incentives out for research and development, we will find ourselves the third world country looking abroad at the new super powers, and wondering what happened.
America does lag behind other nations in Alternative energy research. Unless we want to find our selves as the burger flippers of the world we need to get to work.
Renewable Energy Sources For The Home

With the rising cost of utilities and theĀ constant threat of global warming we as consumers and inhabitants of this planet need to take action.
One of the first and most important tasks would be to start reviewing our options for renewable energy sources for the home. Renewable resources produce far less carbon, thus reducing green house gases. They also are in the long run much easier on the pocketbook.
Traditionally solar panels and the system to harness them have been very expensive. If you have a system installed or purchase the components and assemble the system yourself, this is still the case. Remember, however, that you are making an investment that will pay for itself over and over again.
Many people with the way the economy has been have decided to take a different route. They have decided to build thier own systems from scratch. The savings in choosing this route are pretty incredible.
There are two different systems that are fairly easy to build yourself. A solar panel system, or a wind turbine system. Which one you choose will depend onĀ your location.
